Overview
In this workshop we would like to understand various invariants in low-dimensional topology and their applications. In particular, we will focus on the following invariants:

 - Geometric representatives of 3-manifolds and knot groups
 - Polynomial invariants of knots
 - Heegaard Floer and Khovanov homology invariants of knots and manifolds
 - Gauge theoretic invariants of manifolds

Also, there will be a lecture series for 2 days (May 8-9, 2017) right before our workshop at KIAS.
Mark Powell (UQAM) and Francesco Lin (IAS) will give lectures tentatively about ‘Freedman’s theory on topological 4-manifolds’ and ‘Monopole Floer homology’, respectively.
